Today was the trip to the tulip garden in Bowral with Marie. These were my expectations of the place: big garden, therefore a huge array of different flowers not just tulips; extremely pretty; some kind water feature; and great entertainment. These expectations were met: different array of flowers [though not many different ones]; and stream water feature. It was pretty, though not as I imagined it; it wasn't huge, it was just ... twenty metres squared, approximately; there was entertainment, but it was just some dancing and flute playing; the flowers were nice, but some of them were dying/dead.

Though the weather was extremely cold, I got over it after two to three hours. I wore a country lolita co-ordinate seeing as the place was in the regional area and I am flower-sighting. I had a hat, but it was too un-sunny to wear it. I was also about to bring along a basket to match with outfit, but seeing as it was a cold day, I needed to bring my jacket. And putting my jacket in the basket was unsightly.
What I wore left me feeling cold -- good thing I brought a grey jacket along with me. It didn't match my outfit, but it didn't matter because I took it off for photos. Ooh! That reminds me! I receive many compliments from little old ladies -- they were so nice -- and not one direct/up-front criticism. You know, wearing lolita doesn't make self-conscious about my image at all -- in fact, my confident boosts up when I wear it. This strikes me as odd because when I wear mainstream clothing, I feel slightly self-conscious.
The first time I wore lolita, not many people stared nor snickered. I thought it was because that everyone was too busy to, seeing as I was in Sydney CBD. But after today, it seems to not be true.
However, even if I received sneers or be name-called, I think I'll enjoy laughing at their attempts to make me feel bad.

I didn't expect it, but they had stalls there. Mum bought me a loli-able purse. Carousel print! The fabric was exported from Japan. The retailer's friend hand-made it. Not bad for thirty dollars! Brand: Only Midge -- check it out Aussie lolis! [Hey, that rhymes!]
After exploring the whole garden, we exited it and toured the small town of Bowral. I found a really cute umbrella. White and ruffle-y. It was forty-five dollars. I guess that's alright... I mean, it can be used against the sun's UV and rain. Yay for UV-protect.

Overall, I'm content with how the day turned out. I have lovely pictures of the flowers, my sister and I to use as my laptop's desktop wallpaper. [Click for desktop-sized picture.]

I think it was me taking my great-grandmother's toothbrush to play with. I was about two years of age.

Hime/Princess Cut Review

DW
Hair Cut PicturesCollapse )

I got my hime/princess cut today. I knew it wouldn't be exactly like my reference pictures [Nana Kitade and Kanashimi-hime] but this is really screwed up. It looks better angle side-on than front-on. Front on is just ... eurgh...
The time it took was four hours. Seriously, unacceptable. They did a bit and left me for half an hour. Then this repeated. I understand leaving in the protective serum but fifteen minutes sitting at the hair washing stand and fifteen minutes waiting for someone to continue on my hair? Nope, not good. This happened twice [serum repeated].
When my hair grows out, I'll go to a Japanese hair salon to fix it. No more dodgy Asian salons.
Salon CleanlinessCollapse )
Salon Cleanliness: 6/10; view pictures.
Time: 5/10; too long.
Cut: 6.5/10; Fringe uneven, side-bang too thick, and they almost cut off my curls at the back.
Communication: 7/10; No, don't touch my curls at the back.
"Please don't do anything to my back curls."
"Do you want it curled?"
"No, please don't curl the back."
"Do you want it straightened?"
"No...!"
Which part of "no" don't they get? The 'no' or the 'no'? I even told them in a language they understood, not just English.
Overall: 6/10; I'm trying to be nice with this overall rating. Six out of ten seems fair.
Well, I need to deal with this for the next few months.

Place to avoid: The hair salon in Cabramatta Plaza, Cabramatta, New South Wales.

Well, I fixed it up a bit and it's alright. :\ Better than before. I have to tie my hair up in pigtails for it to look alright.
I don't care what other people think of it, only what I think of it.
When I was walking around Cabramatta after the cut, a few people talked about me to the person next to them. This just made me grin. :D

Nothing special today. I woke up late today, compared to what I usually wake up during the weekends -- 9AM. Wow.
Grey skies loomed. Gloomy weather equates to my gloomy mood and icky sticky feelings.

James Bond, Tomorrow Never Dies, is on at the moment. That guy beds every woman -- good or bad -- and if they marry him, they are doomed to die by the hands of his enemies.
There are Chinese people in the movie, Dad disses them say they are [insert insult here]. He says ninety per cent of Chinese people are evil/corrupt/whatever. Technically, he is Chinese as well. So biased, that man.

I studied for the upcoming exam next term. For both papers I practiced on I got eighty-six per cent. How odd.
I really need to brush up on my basic maths. Should I really do extension? I know I won't make top three in standard, but I will make it in top ten in extension. I'll stick to my decided courses.

I'm going to Sydney CBD tomorrow. Eat at Wagamama, go to Kinokuniya, and pick up a cute pink lolita skirt.
I'll be ever so content for the day.
I'm fifty dollars and a PayPal account verification away from getting an Anna House Fashion dress for my year formal. I decided that my current outfit will be worn for my birthday party instead and other occasions.

I just started reading Sea Glass, the second book in the Glass trilogy by Maria V. Snyder. I finally started reading two months after I bought it. Why? I'd be anxious for the next book in the trilogy. So to avoid this, I put off reading it until the next book is about to be released.
I'm also currently reading 'I Am A Genius Of Unspeakable Evil And I Want To Be Your Class President' by Josh Lieb. It's quite entertaining and I had me chuckling every few pages.
You should check it out.

Gender: F for Male

DW
It's the second day of spring and they sky is gloomy and glum. The last day of winter was hot, hot, hot, though! How mean. The first day of spring was dark, too.

Even today, after the fifty percent off sale at Bodyline, the website still lagged badly. Oh, hey! It's still on sale! Maybe they haven't updated it yet. Probably. Sadly. I'd so love for one of the rocking horse shoes for my school formal and just to wear when going out. [insert a dramatic exasperated sigh here.]
500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

It actually is on sale. I finally made it through to the check out. Too bad I can't buy anything. Too bad I can't use pre-paid credit cards.

The funny things that happened at school today revolved around the DVD cover for Shakespeare's Othello. My puppy, Andrew, is looking forward to choking my kitten, Kim.
I'm probably playing the part of Iago. I may just look okay with a princess/hime haircut tied back. [I think I may really be getting this cut! I've just e-mailed a Japanese hair salon in the city about it -- time and price.]
I didn't want the part of Iago because I thought my friend wanted it. I didn't tell her I wanted it or else she'll immediately give it up. Well, apparently she doesn't when I asked her if she wanted the part instead of me saying I want the part. Unless she knew I wanted it. I'll definitely be posting some snap-shots here and the link to the video if we make one.
And my haircut.

Oh, my puppy, Andrew, was applying for something and joked about how it would be funny if someone wrote down their gender wrong. Apparently, just as he said it, it filled the box in with F for female.

I just found out that at Disneyland in Japan, they actually make glass slippers/heels! Isn't that cool? Except when you think about how it looks like, it may not look nice. If it's see through, like most glass, you'll see an ugly magnified pair of feet. But if it's not see through, it may just be nice.

This Calls For: "OMGWTF?!"

DW
Bodyline has a fifty percent off sale due the manager's [correct me if I'm wrong] birthday. They have rocking horse shoes. And skirts. And JSKs. And I can't buy any. This calls for: "OMGWTF Ihavetowaituntilnextyearforthisdamnsaleagainthatdoesn'tevenguaranteemybuy?!" [Insert rage if not already seen.]

I handed in my English assignment today. I think I quite like it. "Yay!" for that. It was a DVD cover of Shakespeare's Othello -- a re-make however we like. My kitten, Kim, had a great idea. Why don't we make a DVD cover using us as the characters for the fun of it?! I almost [if not, did] squealed in delight. We kind of shied [shyed, shy'ed, shy'd?] away from choosing to act as Desdemona. Kind of.

We did 'black and white' [a who-is-in/it game -- we show our back hand or palm and whoever is the odd one out is in/it/chosen]. And unlikely friend, Michelle --and no, she has no pet names besides "Kiki"--, got the part, but then my kitten volunteered. I told her that if she wanted to be Desdemona, I get to pick out her dress. She responded with: "It's not like I'm going to wear it anyway." Myah. I wanted to pick out a loli dress for her. Ah, well.

Ooh! I can't believe my puppy, Andrew, agreed to it! YAY! We only have one guy in our group. Sad. Kind of. Kind of.

This will be a modern adaptation of Othello. Just a DVD cover. But I want it to be more. Not the full act; just maybe a short, or slide-show at least. We're planning it tomorrow.

We're also thinking of doing this for other movies/acts such as: Disney's movies, maybe anime movies... Hmm... I think we should do books, too, but I doubt my puppy would agree to this due to the fact that he doesn't really read.

Well, I think I'm going to have fun tomorrow. Maybe. Who's going to take the photos/film?!

Oh, yes. I did go through with my school representative council [SRC] application. Eight out of eleven chances I'll make it in. I hope it's just the teachers who chooses who are the SRCs instead of having the year vote.
